With the autumn equinox just behind us, I thought it'd be nice to share some of the information around the fleeting astronomical event. Firstly the autumn equinox signifies the passing of summer and the start of autumn.

The word ‘equinox’ comes from the Latin for ‘equal light’ and it is the day in between the summer and winter solstices where the daylight hours and darkness hours are roughly equal!

The autumn equinox is celebrated all over the world in different ways and due to the difference in the calendar year can fall anytime between September 21st and 24th.
